Karsten Erbs, priest at Mellerup Valgmenighed:
"Once again, a marvelous concert experience was given by Andreas on his cello. The program featured some of Bach's cello suites, composed between 1717 and 1723, during Bach's service as the court chapel master for the Margrave of Brandenburg. It's almost otherworldly music, challenging to play because such contrapuntal music on four strings requires both double and triple stops from the cellist. I read somewhere that it requires a certain improvisational approach to play the notes and that Bach probably thought the cellist had to find solutions on their own. Andreas understood this so well that during the concert, we experienced the suites played with amplification and many electronic interventions, leading to shorter or longer improvisations after each suite. As listeners, we were led into a sound universe that was sometimes resting, vegetative passages in semi-darkness, and sometimes lively and jumping, like when the changing cloud cover alternately veils the sun and lets it shine. The electronics allowed Andreas to play with himself in many variations. It was breathtaking. What a concert!"
